She Sews!

I need more stuff like I need a hole in the head but this looked worth saving from the tip.
Not in perfect condition but pretty, I thought, and she sews!
I thought she'd just make a nice prop but it was delightful stitching with her.
I wasn't at all sure about the correct way to thread her.
There are bits missing.

Amazingly the tension was spot on! I'll try using her to construct Ann's bonnet.
Think I'll call her Cleo.

How beautiful. I once rescued a treadle base from a skip and wheeled it uphill all the way home. Did you really get this from a tip?

What a great find. Your threading looks just right. SIngers just go on and on; I have my mother's, converted to electricity long ago, but still the heavy, glossy beauty it always was. I learned to sew on a treadle, back in the 1950s - a wonderful way to sew. Enjoy!

She was indeed at the tip. The case was dirty but inside the machine wasn't too bad. Treadles are great, so easy to control - I learnt on my Grandma's.
