Solipsist

Amazing, beautiful and a bit grotesque.
You may feel better after watching how the film was made.

Resolutions

Rather than a single New Year's Resolution I am more likely to compile a list and then soon afterwards feel swamped. This year I was inspired by Lesley and this video

29 WAYS TO STAY CREATIVE from TO-FU on Vimeo.

For a get together this weekend I made little parcels
for each guest to choose their own at random
- and of their own free will.
This was the one I picked out, with eyes shut.
Illustrated with detail from a Peter Blake collage.
Now Lesley is taking her resolutions one week at a time here.
I love her little boxes.
Sounds like a much better way to manage a list - one step at a time.

Ceramic Inspiration BBC 4

I don't watch TV but made a special point of seeing this series. The first programme made me really want to make some slipware.

Sort of wobbly and crude looking but difficult - it takes a skilled artist's hand.

Fun

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bjggctu3kw&feature=channel

As the autumn sets in it is good to remember fun things for damp days - damp not actually raining. I have a big bubblemaker somewhere - not as big as this of course. The film looks slowed down slightly enabling us to better see the pops and the quivering forms. This particular film chosen for Satie's music too.

Light, Colour, Nature

SANSULA Dominik Eulberg musicvideo from dirk rauscher on Vimeo.

I do wish I could make films. Or at least take photographs. I first saw this video more than a year ago. It made a strong impression on me. I love watching it.
