Gentle Stitching

East Side Interior - New York 1922, John Sloan.
My Singer sewing machine is a dream to sew with. She's quiet, gentle and unhurried. Perfect for tiny hems or work that requires careful negotiating. I wouldn't use her to make curtains but sewing Ann's bonnet was a real pleasure and felt more civilised than using my electric machine. I'm particularly proud of myself for working out how to wind the bobbin.
According to this site it was made in 1922.
Now I need to figure out how to photograph the completed bonnet.
